Arrest warrant issued for restaurant owner receiving city loan

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Just over a week after Cincinnati City Council approved almost $1 million in grants and loans to open Mahogany's restaurant, the owner has a warrant out for her arrest.

Court documents show that a warrant is out for Elizabeth Rogers for failure to appear in court. Rogers was summoned to court a $3,000 debt. She was subpoenaed to appear in court for a "judgment debtor's exam" a for $3,000 debt but she did not show up.

Cincinnati City Council approved $1 million in grants and loans after a 6-3 vote at the end of February.

Rogers is also under scrutiny due to unpaid taxes. She says she is currently paying off a $49,223 tax lien to the IRS. Rogers says that these unpaid taxes come from another business she owned.
