LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Lakota Local School Board is scheduled to meet Monday night to vote on the district's latest cost-cutting proposal.
About 50 jobs, including central office administrators, school administrators and instructional specialists, would be eliminated in a budget proposal that would cut $3.5 million from next school year's budget.
Senior jobs being proposed for elimination include an assistant superintendent, assistant treasurer, curriculum director, two assistant elementary school principals and the two deans of students, one at each high school. The deans would be replaced by an assistant principal, shared between the two high schools.
Other cuts include the director of RTI/ESL, who oversees the Response to Intervention and English as a Second Language programs.
Monday's meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Lakota East High School's Main Campus, 6840 Lakota Lane, Liberty Township, and is open to the public.
