BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) -

An Amelia man enters a guilty plea before a scheduled hearing on Tuesday in the death of a Batavia Township trustee-elect.

Jack Richards Jr. was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide for the death of Jim Bushman on Nov. 21, 2011.

Bushman, 72, was taking out his garbage when he was struck. Police say Richards was trying to pass a van in his pick up truck when he lost control and hit the van.

The truck then went off the left side of the road, hitting and killing Bushman.

Richards originally pled not guilty during his December 2011 arraignment.
