FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Fairfield Police have arrested a man who escaped a court room during his sentencing hearing Wednesday.
Christopher Lee Ruffin, 25, was being sentenced to 90 days in jail for a probation violation when he assaulted two bailiffs and escaped the court room. While he was escaping another bailiff tased Ruffin.
Police say when Ruffin left the courthouse, he attempted to enter a vehicle that was occupied. That person locked their doors, and was unable to get in.
Police then say he got into a vehicle that was occupied by a woman and a 2-year-old child. While he was trying to convince the driver to take him out of the city, police arrived, and Ruffin ran away on foot.
Police apprehended him shortly after.
Ruffin was taken to the Butler County Jail, where he is being held on the 90 days he was originally sentenced for. Additional charges are expected to be announced.
