Public input wanted on council term limits

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A public hearing is scheduled Wednesday to discuss term limits for Cincinnati council members.

A proposal would extend a council member's term from two years to four years.

The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 801 Plum Street.

Councilwoman Laure Quinlivan first issued the proposal, saying council members will be able to get more done if they are in office for four years. Some council members who are opposed to the four-year term say two years is enough time.

If the proposal passes, it will be on the November 2012 ballot.
