OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - The son of a local congressman has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an incident in Oxford that occurred last month.

Brandon "Randy" Chabot, son of Congressman Rep. Steve Chabot, was arrested in February for breaking and entering, disorderly conduct and making a false alarm.

Chabot was in court Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing and making a false alarm. He will have to pay fines, but avoided jail time.

Oxford Police say Chabot was drunk and tried to break into the McCullough Hyde Annex. He pulled the fire alarm and told police that he worked there, but he didn't.
