HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

A teenager who is accused of killing a fellow resident at a Butler County group home was in court on Monday.

Lance Tiernan, 17, is accused of murdering Anthony Parker, 16, at the One Way Farm back in December.

Monday's court appearance was Tiernan's first since learning he will be tried as an adult for the murder. He was indicted on the murder charge in adult court earlier this month.

Tiernan pled not guilty and his bond will remain at $1 million. His next court date is scheduled for April 16.

Tiernan faces 15 years to life in prison plus a $15,000 fine if convicted.
