CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel received a big endorsement on Monday.
The Freedom Works Political Action Committee is endorsing Mandel over incumbent Sherrod Brown for one of Ohio's US Senate seats.
Mandel served eight years in the Marine Corps after getting his bachelor's from Ohio State and law degree from Case Western. Mandel says he wants take the country in a new direction.
"We're running against someone who's been running for political office since Richard Nixon was president and who's been in Washington for two decades. As we've seen all over Ohio, if we want to change Washington, we've got to change the people we send here," said Treasurer Mandel.
However a new Quinnipiac poll shows Brown leading the race with 46 percent to Mandel's 36 percent with a margin of error of almost three percent. That lead is down slightly from February.
