iTED, a new medical aesthetic procedure for the treatment of stretch marks, skin whitening/melasma, and scars, has concluded its first multi-site clinical study involving hundreds of patients. Developed by Alma Lasers Ltd., (http://www.almalasers.com), a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative aesthetic technologies, iTED treats difficult skin conditions by delivering cosmeceuticals and topical creams across the epidermis-dermis junction.

Dr. Moshe Lapidoth, President Elect of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology and an internationally recognized expert on new technologies in medical aesthetics, participated in the clinical trials of iTED. Dr. Lapidoth states, "iTED is an easy to perform procedure that greatly enhances the efficacy of trans-epidermal delivery. As any ablation of the skin releases inter-cellular fluids which clog the microchannels and prevents the absorption of cosmeceuticals, the IMPACT module advances the cosmeceuticals through the microchannels with acoustic pressure, and essentially overcomes the problem that until now has limited the success of trans-epidermal delivery."
Dr. Uwe Paasch, a senior physician at the University of Leipzig and visiting physician at the Cleveland Clinic, conducted histologies on the iTED treatment. According to Dr. Paasch, "Clinical results of the iTED treatment have been very impressive. The IMPACT module is able to pass large amounts of topical creams beyond the skin barrier to levels not previously obtainable. The result of which is improved treatment outcomes and new treatment possibilities."
Dr. Maria Claudia Issa, a clinical professor of dermatology at Fluminense University Brazil, treated over 70 patients with the iTED procedure. Dr. Issa's results, which will be presented at the April ASLMS dermatology convention in Orlando, point to an overwhelming improvement in appearance of scars, stretch marks and melasma.
The iTED procedure has been proven safe for all skin types, anytime throughout the year. Treatment has virtually no pain or downtime, and can be performed with three different Alma Lasers systems which combine fractional ablation with the IMPACT sonotrode: Legato (RF Pixel), Accent Ultra V (RF Pixel), and Pixel CO2 laser.
Full results of the iTED multi-site clinical study will be released following publication of participating clinics in their respective journals.
