POLICE: Teen crashes stolen car into cop car

FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19) - A Franklin teen is jailed after a stolen car crashes into a police cruiser.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, police were called to Locust Street in Franklin to investigate a car theft.

When police arrived, their cruiser was hit head-on by the stolen vehicle.

Police say the driver, Steven Collins, 19, and a passenger quickly ran away after the accident.

Collins was caught a short time later but his passenger was not.

Collins has been charged with felony assault on a peace officer, obstructing officials business, theft of a motor vehicle, underage consumption of alcohol and vehicle trespassing.

Collins is being help on $116,000 bond.

He's scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
