Grandmother, grandson robbed and assaulted at gunpoint during home invasion

NORCROSS, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Masked gunmen terrorized a Norcross family, and stole thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry. But what's worse, the crooks threatened to kill a 3-year-old boy if they didn't get what they wanted.

"They had my grandson and they said that if I didn't give them anything of value they would kill him," said Edith Estrada. "I just threw myself on top of the guy and scratched his face trying to get my grandson from him."

Three armed crooks surprised Edith and her grandson Johnathan last Monday, demanding money and jewelry, or else.

Edith said she was on the back deck checking on the laundry when she heard the dogs barking, but she didn't see anybody. When she turned to go inside, crooks stormed the house.

"As I was going to open the door, someone pulled my hair and pointed a gun to my neck," she said.

The crooks even threatened to kill her grandson if she didn't cooperate, so she calmed down and they ransacked the home.

"They took all the gold we had, $4,700. It was going to be for rent, bills, cars, everything," said Edith.

Once the crooks grabbed the loot, they took off the same way they came in, through the backyard and along the wood line.

Edith said she may install security cameras because she's not leaving her home. She hopes one of the crooks will be spotted with that nasty scratch mark down his face and hopefully someone will call police.
