Woman hit by a car on Turfway Road

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

On Saturday, a woman was hit while trying to cross Turfway Road.

Florence police say that a woman was crossing Turfway Road, when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle in the westbound lane around 9:00 p.m.

Paramedics transported the woman to University Hospital.  

That's where she is being treated for a head injury and possible broken leg.

At this time her injuries are not considered life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to St. Elizabeth for observation.

This accident is still under investigation.
