FINNEYTOWN, OH (FOX19) - A couple local doctors went back to high school on Monday to discuss the dangers of smoking.
Dr. William Barrett of the Barrett Cancer Center and Dr. Tom Boat, Dean of UC's College of Medicine spoke at St. Xavier High School. For the past two years they have been speaking at local schools as part of an outreach initiative discouraging teenagers from using tobacco.
Local Olympic marathon runner, Julie Isphording, helped Dr. Barrett develop this program.
Every day 1,200 Americans die from smoke related illness. Another 50,000 die from exposure to second hand smoke.
