CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Police say a man is responsible for one of the worst scrap metal thefts in Cincinnati's history.
Micah Webster, 28, broke into Hosea Project Movers in Fairmount then broke into some electrical equipment.
"They broke into the machinery itself. They broke into the control panels and stripped the wiring out of it. Then they take the wire and cut the insulation from around it.Then they take the wire down to the scrap yard and scrap it for the copper wire. According to the company it's about $1.5 million dollars in damage to these control panels. What did the people get? Maybe a thousand dollars in scrap metal," said Lt. Don Luck, a Cincinnati Police Division investigator.
Webster is facing eight charges including breaking and entering and vandalism. His bond is set at $60,000.
