Piece of tire on 75 leads to woman's death, sends 2 more to hospital

A woman has died, after the car she was riding in rear-ended another car on Interstate 75 in Walton, Kentucky.
Around 10:43 a.m., Hemendra Patel, 28 of Louisville, Kentucky was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry when he stopped suddenly due to a large piece of retreaded tire in the middle of his lane that had just come off a tractor trailer. Rachel Greba, 20 of Verona, Kentucky was driving a 1998 Ford Mustang coming up behind the Camry. Unable to take evasive action, the Mustang slammed into the rear of the Camry.
A rear seat passenger in the Camry, Sonali Sisodia, 30 of Herndon, Virginia was pronounced dead at the scene. Her son, Aadidy Thakur, 4, who was in a child seat in the rear seat was transported to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio accompanied by Patel, his uncle. A front seat passenger, Swati Sisodia, 28 of Louisville, Kentucky, was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Greba refused treatment at the scene.
All northbound lanes were initially closed until 11:50 a.m. when one lane was opened to ease congestion. The scene was totally cleared at 2:00 p.m. The collision is being investigated by the Boone County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Unit.
