Historical society honors Judy O'Bannon among "Living Legends"

Former Indiana first lady Judy O'Bannon and four others are being recognized as living legends. Indiana Historical Society officials say they will be honored on July 23. Former basketball great George McGinnis and Indianapolis poet Mari Evans are also on the list. Officials say they will also honor philanthropist Richard Ford of Wabash and dean emeritus Charles Webb Junior of the Indiana University School of Music. Society officials say the widow of late Gov. Frank O'Bannon is being honored for promoting efforts to strengthen Indiana communities. McGinnis was Indiana Mr. Basketball in 1969. He was co-most valuable player of the American Basketball Association in 1975 while playing for the Pacers.
