INDEPENDENCE, KY (FOX19) - A Tri-State teacher has been named Kentucky's Teacher of the Year.
Laura Medley-Schneider, a teacher at Simon Kenton, received the award from the Kentucky Education Association.
"Laura is an amazing teacher who has always dedicated herself to students. She is very deserving of this honor," said Sharon Cross, President of the Kenton County Education Association.
Schneider teaches arts and humanities and English electives. She's been a teacher for 27 years. She will represent Kentucky at the NEA Foundation's annual Salute to Excellence in Education Gala in Washington, DC in February next year.
