Residents come together to make their city beautiful
COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -
Volunteers gathered to help make their neighborhoods beautiful on Saturday.
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful and Keep Covington Beautiful teamed up to present the 2012 Great American Cleanup. More than 200 volunteers from Give Back Cincinnati worked with residents of Kennedy Heights to paint over graffiti and spruce up community gateways. Mayor Mark Mallory and Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls were also on hand to rally volunteers.
Volunteers mulched newly planted trees and removed invasive plants in Covington. They then met at Goebel Park for awards and environmental education about water conservation and litter prevention.
