FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - A Fairfield teenager whose body was found in a creek one week ago was laid to rest Monday.

Funeral services were held at Fairfield West Baptist Church for 15-year-old Chelsea Johnson who police say was stabbed to death.

"Sadly we are no longer whole because a beautiful part of us has been taken and left us with a huge void that will never ever be filled," said Stacy Rose, Chelsea's aunt.

Family and friends dressed in purple which was Chelsea's favorite color.

At one point during the funeral service, Chelsea's mother had to leave the sanctuary as she was overtaken with emotion.

"What gives anyone the right to take the life of another," said Pastor Rob Rosenbalm. "What gives anyone the right to destroy and devastate a family, to cause a community to fear and tremble."

Chelsea's principal at Fairfield Options Academy, Bob Polson, also shared his memories of Chelsea.

"Chelsea was very pleasant. She was friendly toward everyone she encountered," said Polson. "She was always smiling and she was determined to succeed academically."

Investigators were present at Monday's funeral services. No arrests have been made in the case.
