TANNER, AL (WAFF) -

The April 2011 storms destroyed dozens of homes in the Tanner community of Limestone County.

One month after the tornado, it looked like a ghost town. The EF-4 tornado touched down in Beth Redman's neighborhood.

"We were constantly praying, praying praying that God would watch everyone in the neighborhood," said Redman.

The twister uprooted trees, destroyed homes, damaged others and peeled back Redman's roof.

"The roof was sitting on top of the ceiling. We were amazed it didn't fall on us," remembered Redman.

When the storm passed, Redman walked outside. There was nothing but devastation all around. She said she took pictures and cried. Redman documented that terrible day with hundreds of photos.

"It's not to take pictures to look at what bad happened. It's the memories of showing what we made it through," said Redman. "It's another miracle to me we all made it," said Redman.

Neighbors are planning a block party Saturday. Redman said they will light a candle for the two people on Rosie Road who did not make it out of the storm alive.
