Parole denied for man who hit and killed a Gallatin County High School valedictorian

WARSAW, KY (FOX19) -

A drunk driver who hit and killed a Gallatin County High School valedictorian in 2007 has been denied parole.

Matthew Miles is currently serving 20 years in prison for the death of Samantha Spade. Spade was driving on State Route 127 in Gallatin County. Miles was traveling the opposite direction when he crossed the center line and hit her car head on.

Miles had a blood alcohol level of three times the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Spade was 18 years old.
