CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Bengals have chosen cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick as their first first round draft pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, trying to fill one of their two most glaring needs.

The Bengals had one of the best cornerback tandems in the NFL in Johnathan Joseph and Leon Hall, but Joseph left for Houston after the 2010 season and Hall tore an Achilles tendon last year.

The Bengals had the 17th overall pick in the first round, and will also make the 21st overall pick in the first round as part of the Carson Palmer trade with Oakland.
