Cincinnati bringing green energy to the city

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The City of Cincinnati will be the first major city in the United States to choose a 100 percent "green" electricity supply for eligible residents and small businesses.

Cincinnati has chosen FirstEnergy Solutions as the provider through an aggregation process in which the city represents the customer as on larger buying unit in order to negotiate a lower price on electricity. This will save the average household about $133 a year on electric bills.

Eligible customers will begin receiving information in the mail soon.
