SUSPECT BACK IN TRI-STATE CHARGED WITH RESTAURANT MANAGER MURDER

A former employee who was fired by a Northern Kentucky Applebee's restaurant manager will likely be charged with murder.  David Parsons was returned from Indiana to the Tri-State Tuesday by investigators with the Kenton County Police Department.  Parsons was being held in a Hamilton County, Indiana jail charged with theft.  36 year old Mark Smith, a husband and father of two, was found dead April 27, 2003 outside the Applebee's in Crestview Hills.  Smith was shot in the right cheek.  For months investigators continued to pursue leads, but according to Mark Smith's family they have secured a confession from Parsons.  Smith's father tells FOX 19 he hopes justice is served and that he will return to Northern Kentucky from his home in Florida to watch the case develop.  There is a press conference scheduled Wednesday at noon at the Kenton County Police Department.  Stay tuned to FOX19 news for the latest information in the case.
