The Middletown Police Department charges a man with child endangering after overdosing early Saturday morning.

Police checked into a report of van sitting with its blinker on in a lot of a vacant business on Lafayette Avenue. According to a press release, the van had been sitting in the lot for hours.

Middletown Police say inside the van they found a 3-year-old and an 8-month-old. Their parents, Mark and Rebecca Hunt, were also inside, unresponsive.

Police were able to wake the parents and they were taken to Atrium Medical Center for treatment of a possible drug overdose.

Rebecca Hunt was admitted and listed in serious condition. After Mark Hunt was treated and released, he was taken to the Middletown Jail where he was charged with child endangering.

Police say charges are pending on Rebecca Hunt, awaiting her release from the hospital.

The children were removed from the custody of their parents and placed in the custody of Butler County Children's Service.
