Special Olympians compete in the Spring Games

UNION, KY (FOX19) - The Special Olympics Kentucky Area 7 Spring Games were held at Ryle High School on Saturday.

The meet included more than 100 athletes from Boone, Campbell, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton Counties. More than 1,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state will participate in regional track and field competitions as it is the largest event in the Special Olympics program in Kentucky.

Spring Game participants automatically qualify to compete in the Summer Games in June at Eastern Kentucky University.
