Springboard South Music Festival Announces Debut at CityCentre in Houston - Friends in Music Come Together to Benefit Houston Food Bank, Independent Artists
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) May 01, 2012
Flora & Muse Bistro will be hosting the second stage for the Springboard South Music Festival (SSMF). The admission free event will take place in Houston's CityCentre May 4th-6th.
The festival will delight music fans by presenting 45 bands on two stages in a comfortable, family friendly environment. Artists include Dave Ransom, Castle Lights, and Tory Taylor Tompkins.
SSMF offers artists a unique opportunity to further their careers through free consultations with experts in the music and marketing industry.
“I returned to Houston after 20 years in LA to find local musicians in need of education and help. Unlike the city of Austin, Houston doesn’t do enough to celebrate or showcase the tremendous talent we have in our own backyard,” said Barry Coffing, founder of SSMF.
The Springboard South Music Festival will be supporting the Houston Food bank by selling the “Singing for Their Supper” CD set featuring one song from each artist at the festival.
“We chose to partner with Houston Food Bank because although hunger is big news in faraway lands, we have hungry people right here at home,” says Coffing. “It is all too often left up to organizations such as HFB to step in and fill the need.”
Coffing sums up the festival’s purpose:
“Our goal is to give the artists the education and resources that will get them to the next level, while at the same time raising money for a worthy cause.”
