A major downtown road will permanently close today near the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. After the morning rush hour, Broadway Street between Court Street and Reading Road will close permanently as construction begins on the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati urban plaza.
Eggleston Avenue will open northbound traffic only starting today and become two way traffic in June.
Also, East Court Street will remain closed from Eggleston Avenue to Reedy Street and will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Reedy Street to Gilbert Road.
The Broadway Street closure was approved by Cincinnati City Council in January. The urban plaza will serve as a green space that is aimed to increase connectivity to downtown, Over-The-Rhine and Pendleton.
Right now, the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati is scheduled to open spring 2013.
