Dear Family of Matt Maupin,
My name is Lora Cobb and I live in Deer Park, OH. I am married and I have 4 children. I want you to know that you have touched our lives and that we are praying for all of you and for Matt. I am a 1987 graduate of Lakota high school, but I only went to Lakota my senior year. I went to Clough Pike Elementary School from 4th grade through 6th. I then attended Glen Este Jr. High and High School until my parents divorced and we moved after I completed my junior year. I guess the fact that Matt went to Glen Este and is from the same neighborhood that I grew up makes it hit close to home for me. My Mother-in-law still lives in Union Township and I visit every now and then. Well, God Bless All Of You and God Bless Matt!

Hello, I live in Allentown, PA. The day I heard that Matt was being held hostage, it was like hearing he was one of my own, almost. Hardly a moment goes by that I do not think about him, and praying that he will be okay. I have 4 grandchildren and I think of their future, and the sacrifice that Matt and all of the other brave young men and boys are making for their future. God Bless them all, and especially Matt at this time. Thank you for giving me a forum to let me say this.
I WANT U TO KNOW YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS. I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR YOUR FAMILY. AND MATT IS BROUGHT HOME SAFELY TO YOU AND YOURS..
My name is Margueriette. I live in Avondale. I was writing this note to let you know that your family has my blessings and prayers in this time of need. I have 4 sons, ages 25-20-14-10. The 20 year old is going to the Navy in 2 months. I pray Matt comes home soon. You have all my love.Stay Blessed.

DEAR MATTS FAMILY
I KNOW IT MUST BE TOUGH FOR YOU TO SEE YOUR SON AS A HOSTAGE IN IRAQ.
MY NAME IS AIMEE JULIAN AND I AM 20 AND I LIVE IN BUTLER COUNTY OHIO. I MAY NOT HAVE SON IN THE ARMY, BUT I HAVE SON ON THE WAY IN JUNE. AND I CAN RELATE HOW PAINFUL THIS MUST BE TO NOT HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH YOUR SON. BUT AS WE BATTLE FOR AMERICA, THE MORE THIS COUNTY COMES TOGETHER. I WOULD BE DEVISTATED IF MY SON WAS IN THIS RESTLESS BATTLE. BUT I MUST SAY TO YOU, HOLD ONE ANOTHER LIKE NEVER BEFORE, YOU ARE ONE FAMILY AND MATT MAYBE 1 IN MILLION. BUT I MUST SAY TO YOU ALL HOLD STRONG LIKE SOLIDERS AND BE SUPPORTIVE FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES FOR HIM TO COME HOME. GOD IS WITH YOU AND OTHER SOLIDERS IN THIS AND THIER FAMILYS. I PRAY THEY LET HIM GO, AND HAVE HIM COME HOME TO YOU ALL. CRY TEARS OF JOY, HE IS NOT DEAD, BUT CRY TEARS FOR HIS BRAVENESS AND HIS STRENGTH TO HOLD ON AND BE STRONG. I BELIEVE MATT WILL COME OUT UNHARMED, BUT YOU ALL NEED TO BE HIS STRENGTH RIGHT NOW AND FEEL HOW SCARED HE MUST BE AND WORRIED. THERES ONLY A MATTER OF DAYS TIL SOMEONE HELPS HIM, BUT UNTIL THEN,PLEASE BE BRAVE, AS EVER, ONLY THIS WILL RETURN HIM TO YOU ALL. GOD IS WITH YOU AND MATT AND BY THE POWER OF GODS STRENGTH AND POWER I KNOW GOD WILL NOT LET HIM COME HOME HARMED. I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU ALL DEARLY, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW HURTING THIS IS, AND IT MAKES ME HURT TO. I SAW HIM ON TV AND I SAW HIS SCARED SIDE SO BRIGHTLY THAT I WANTED TO JUMP IN THE SCREEN AND SAVE HIM, BUT I CANNOT. I PRAY HE HOLDS STRONGS A LIL LONGER, AND DOE SNOT LOSE HIS TEMPER WITH THIS, GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW AWFUL IRAQ PPL ARE, AND I SAY AGAIN BE STRONG BE TOGETHER AND DO NOT TUMBLE DOWN IN PAIN AND SADNESS,MATT WILL BE FINE I HOPE. MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MATT RIGHT NOW. WITH A HEART OF LOVE AND THE CARING OF ONE TO ANOTER.
LOVE AIMEE JULAIN
Dear Maupin Family,
You remain in my thoughts and prayers daily. As was stated so beautifully at Wednesday night's service, Matt is cradled in God's arms and what a joyous day it will be when he is returned to us!
I live over in Green Township, the opposite side of the city from where you are, but we have our yellow ribbons and flags. It doesn't quite compare (yet) to what I saw in Clermont County on Wednesday, but it is spreading here. You and your Matt have claimed the hearts of all of us in the city, and most likely the entire country.
Keep the faith!
Dear Maupin family,
I can't even imagine what you are going through. My husband is a SGT. in the Marines. Thank God that right now he is in Japan, but very soon he will be going over. I just wanted to let you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family. God will bring him back to you. Sincerely, Toni
can't say that I know what your family is going through.....I can only imagine how horrible you all must feel. My prayers are with Matt and all of you. I think I may have went to school with Matt's dad. His name was Keith Maupin and he graduated in '69 from Fairfield High School. Keith was a friend of mine in school and I hope and pray for Matt's return to all of you. This is in God's hands.....let us pray that his will is to bring Matt home safe and sound. Matt is a very brave young man to go over there in the first place. And there are many more brave men and women over there who are willing to sacrifice everything for all of us.....and all of them are praying for Matt. May God be with you. Fran.....from Fairfield. I ask God to protect Matt & all the other soldiers, since they are out of our reach to protect. I also pray for you & your family to get through this horrible time. Seeing how brave Matt is makes me so proud of the men and women serving our

We all come into this life with gifts and lessons to give and to learn. We all must face trials and tests of our faith. To you a son was given, to you a son you love, to all of America his face has become well known, his courage, his strength, his belief in freedom for all. Matt stands for those of us who cannot, he speaks in silence for those of us who do not know what to say, he represents our nation, each and every American who deserves the right to peace and freedom. Matt is not only defending our country he is defending our faith in GOD. Matt is a unique child of GOD with all his light and glory. May our GOD keep him safe in his true light. Our prayers are with your family in this most difficult and trying time. NAMASTE! Diane _____________________________________________________________________________
To the family of Matt Maupin
I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. None of us can imagine what you are going through, but we can pray with you and for you and for Matt.
I just returned from Iraq this past weekend and I was stationed with Matt. While I do not know him personally, I was in his battalion at Anaconda.
We have a great bunch of guys and gals there and they all care very, very much about one another. You truly become family with those that you are stationed with. I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that everyone there cares very much about Matt as well and they will stop at nothing to bring him home safely.
Dear Mr & Mrs. Maupin: I can think of nothing else but your son 24/7 since I heard the news he was being held hostage, and I pray that he will be home safely soon. I have a son around your sons age and I can relate. I can't imagine the horror you must be going through. I hope your faith and the faith and prayers of others gets you through this traumatic time. All my love, Michaela Wagers
just wanted to say top be strong. My prayers along with plenty of others go out to you and your suffering. Matt is someone to be proud of. Any man or woman willing to serve their country should be hailed as a hero. I will pray daily for him. Please remember that whatever happens, it is in God's hands. God bless you all. You will be in my prayers.
Dear Matt Maupin Family, My name is Annette and I live in Dillsboro, Indiana. My husband has a cousin in Iraq and we pray for those soldiers every day. Our prayers are with Matt and you as his family for a safe return home for Matt and all our other soldiers over there. I have lined my porch with yellow and red-white and blue ribbons and am encouraging all others to do the same. Matt is a very brave young man and I pray for his safe return home very soon. Without brave young men and women like Matt, we would have no military to be proud of... My thoughts and prayers are with your family and Matt... Annette from Indiana

If I'm honest, I have been very surprised just by how much this news story has touched me. Probably because it concerns a young man with a wife, young son and his whole life ahead of him. I only hope that Matt will soon be released and be allowed to return to his family, friends and his little boy who undoubtedly all love him very much.
DEAR MAUPIN FAMILY,
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO CONSOLE YOU AT A TIME LIKE THIS. MY NAME IS SHANNON AND I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW MATT AND ALL OF YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS i'VE PRAYED MOR IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS THAN ALL YEAR AND MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE AT THE SUNSET CEREMONY YOU ARE MY FIRST AND LAST THOUGHT EVERY DAY. I CAN'T WAIT TO ATTEND HIS WELCOME HOME CEREMONY.
You can be rest assured that many people here in Holland, and in the rest of Europe, have Matt and indeed all of the Maupin family in our thoughts. Let us all hope that this will be a news story with a happy ending and that Matt can get on with his life and the living of it.

I know that God will keep him safe and bring him HOME soon!

Keep your faith in GOD while this crisis is evolving and everything will work out. My thoughts and prayers are with
your family during this trying time. As a former member of
the US Air Force I'm confident that every possible attempt
will be made to return your son safely home.
My name is Laura Perdue, and I live in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. I have been watching Fox 19 news, and I have heard about the situation with your son. I want you to know that your son and your family are in our prayers, and I also wanted to let you know that on each letter that I send out from my job, I am putting a stamp on the back flap of the envelope of Jesus' prayer hands, and under it I am writing "for Matt Maupin". I send letters out all over the country, so I am hoping to reach alot of people this way. I have a brother-in-law in the Marine Corp., and I would want people to put him in their prayers if this were his situation. I wish only the best for you and your family. We all hope Matt makes it home safe.
