CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Police Department says they are targeting vehicles with unpaid parking tickets on Thursday.
Police say vehicles equipped with License Plate Readers will team up with tow trucks to find and impound vehicles with unpaid parking tickets. If the a vehicle is impounded, the owner will have to pay the outstanding fines and penalties in addition to towing and storage fees before getting their vehicle back.
This initiative is part of the city's effort to resolve the large number of unpaid parking tickets. Police say vehicle owners can avoid the risk of having their car impounded by paying off the tickets.
