Two Colerain High School students are dead after a crash in Butler County Thursday afternoon.
Miranda Lane and Mathilde Jessen were killed in a crash at the intersection of U.S. 127 and State Route 73 in Milford Township.
Deputies say Lane, who was 17, accidentally drove her Civic into the path of an oncoming semi.
She and her passenger, 16-year-old Mathilde Jessen, an exchange student from Denmark, were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a letter sent to parents after the crash, Lane was a Junior and Jessen was a senior.
The driver of the semi, Steve Fish of West Harrison Indiana, was unhurt.
The driver of a pickup truck that was hit by one of the other two vehicles, Edward Schatzle of Milford Township, went to University Hospital by AirCare with minor injuries.
He was out of the hospital by Friday morning.
On Friday, counselors, school psychologists and a district student support team were available for students and faculty.
A deputy on the scene told FOX19 it appeared the driver of the tractor-trailer had no chance to avoid striking the Honda once it pulled into the roadway.
