Two pedestrians struck in Pierce Township

PIERCE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police are investigating an accident in Pierce Township where a man and a woman were struck by a vehicle.

The accident happened Friday around 9:45 p.m. on State Route 125 near the intersection of OH-125 and Amelia-Olive Branch Rd.

Police say Zachary Dewar, 21, was driving his truck eastbound when he stuck two pedestrians. Wanda Love, 60, and Rodney Marcum, 36, were attempting to cross fives lanes of traffic when they were struck by Dewar's pick-up truck.

Love and Marcum were taken to University Hospital. Love is listed in serious condition while Marcum is listed in critical condition.

Police say both Love and Marcum had been drinking prior to the crash.
