Derby party benefits College Hill business district

COLLEGE HILL (FOX19) - The College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday.

The annual party and fundraiser kicked off at 5 p.m. at historic Laurel Court in the 5800 block of Belmont.

"All funds raised through this event and others will be used toward the purchase and renovation of a property in the College Hill business district, which CHCURC will then lease to a new business. College Hill's newest business, Marty Hops and Vines has been very successful since opening its doors in December 2009, and the addition of new entrepreneurial establishments will play an important role in the continued revitalization of our community," said CHCURC President Mike Cappel.

The event includes drinks, food, raffles and a hat contest.
