CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

On Sunday, thousands of runners hit the street for the 14th annual Flying Pig Marathon.

Sergio Reyes was the winner of the men's run. He was also the winner of the 2009 Flying Pig Marathon.

"It was great to come back and have fun on a beautiful day," said Reyes. "It was a good event to run before I take a break from running."

Reyes is planning to take a few weeks off this summer to allow his body to heal from some injuries.

Rachel Bea took the gold for the women's marathon.

The winner of the men's half marathon was Chris Herron.

Amy Robillard took the win for the women's half marathon.

The second place finisher in the women's race got a big surprise at the finish line, a proposal.

"Very, very happy, very excited, best thing ever," said a happy Heather Backer.

Backer is now engaged to Dr. Bob Flick, a member of the Flying Pig's medical team.

The course started on Mehring Way, and runners crossed the finish line on Pete Rose Way.
