Man who was pulled from Ohio River is identified

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - With help from a pleasure boater, Covington Fire Department rescue crews pulled a man from the Ohio River Sunday afternoon. "As we prepared to launch our boat to go rescue the victim we noticed that a passing boat, it was a pleasure boat, was picking the guy up out of the water and they basically brought him over to our boat and handed him off to us," said Covington fire department, Lt. Chris Vogelpohl.

Officials say he suffered "serious injuries" but was stable enough to communicate once he was brought on shore.

"He was talking to us and answering questions we were asking him. We didn't get into details with him as to what happened or the circumstances around that, but he was awake and talking to us the whole time," said Vogelpohl. The man has been identified as Musad Alshamaii. Authorities say he jumped from the Taylor Southgate Bridge.
