Business leaders meet to discuss the new Brent Spence Bridge plans

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson spoke to the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and the NKY Chamber of Commerce at the Moerlein Lager House on Monday.

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and the NKY Chamber of Commerce have outlined the steps needed to build the new Brent Spence Bridge.

"The safety of our citizens and the vitality of our local economy and communities depends on building our new bridge to everywhere," said President of Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky and Chair of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Julie Janson.

The goal of the Coalition to Build Our New Bridge Now is to move the design and construction of the new bridge along as quickly as possible. To make the goal a reality, they say there must be a leverage of public-private partnerships for funding, a creation of an Integrated Project Delivery method to advance the construction and a formation of an agreement between the Kentucky and Ohio.
