Museums & Historic Sites of Greater Cincinnati invites residents and visitors to explore the many historic and cultural gems of the Greater Cincinnati region at Museum Day on Fountain Square, Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
More than two dozen museums and historic sites will be on hand.
Museum Day participants will have several hands-on opportunities including looking at genealogy files and maps from the Delhi Historical Society, sun-gazing with the Cincinnati Observatory, or participating in a Junior Ranger activity with the William Howard Taft National Historic Site.
In the tri-state region, over 60 museums and historic sites are open to the public.
Guests of Museum Day will have the opportunity to explore a variety of interests, such as local history, art, and preservation.
Museum Day participants include: Anderson Township Historical Society, Governor Bebb Preserve Pioneer Group, Behringer-Crawford Museum, The Betts House, Butler County Historical Society, Chrisholm Historic Farmstead, Cincinnati Museum Center Heritage Programs, Cincinnati Observatory Center, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum, Clermont County Park District, Colerain Historical Society of Colerain Township, Delhi Historical Society, Dinsmore Homestead, Fire Museum of Greater Cincinnati, Greater Milford Area Historical Society, Heritage Village Museum, Lloyd Library & Museum, Elijah Morgan Mansion, Mount Healthy Historical Society, Northern Kentucky University Public History Program, Oxford Museum Association, Price Hill Historical Society & Museum, Promont House Museum, Reily Township Historical Society, Harriet Beecher Stowe House, William Howard Taft National Historic Site, Taft Museum of Art, and White Water Shaker Village.
