Are you ready for a Votto-matic Monday? - Cincinnati News, Weather, Sports from FOX19 NOW-WXIX

Are you ready for a Votto-matic Monday?

Good morning!

I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day weekend with the lovely ladies in your life!

Joey Votto definitely created some Mother's Day excitement with a walk-off grand slam, leading the Reds to a 9-6 win over the Washington Nationals. Votto hit three home runs last night, making it his third career home run game and second career grand slam. It was a great weekend to be a Reds fan, to say the least!

Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that the clouds aren't ready to roll out just yet! An area of low pressure passing to our southeast will keep most of the cloud cover around for today, with a chance of drizzle this morning and into the afternoon. Be sure to tune-in to the FOX19 Morning News for current weather updates, or you can check out your complete seven-day forecast on our website.

Are you a slurpie fan, but not exactly a fan of the calories? We have good news for you! One convenience store chain is rolling out a new type of Slurpie with 50 percent fewer calories! We'll tell you where to find these sweet treats at 5:45 a.m.

The visitation for a local Marine, J.P. Huling, is scheduled for this afternoon. Huling died from a gunshot wound to the chest in Afghanistan last weekend. The visitation will take place at Huling's alma mater, Moeller High School, between 4-9 p.m. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15th, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in Sharonville. Dan Wells will be live beginning at 6 a.m. with more information.

Police say an investigation will begin this morning after accusations began swirling of several UC basketball players punching and kicking a bouncer at "PLAY" nightclub downtown on Saturday night. Find out what is rumored to have started the brawl coming up at 6 a.m.

As always, Stephanie Woods is here to keep you safe and on-time during your commute, but she also has something else in store for you this Monday morning. Whether you're a pit bull owner or just an animal lover, Stephanie is taking you behind the scenes to show you what's working at one rescue that's trying to take away negative stereotypes for pit bulls during the 8 a.m. hour.

Not only is Katy Morgan a rock star in the newsroom, but I hear she has some grilling skills too! Our morning show grilling contest kicks off this morning during the 8 a.m. hour and you won't want to miss her grilled margharita pizza masterpiece!

You're all caught up and it's time for you to enjoy your Monday!
