Bus crash survivor mentors Holmes High School students

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Holmes High School Basketball Coach Jason Booher is one of 40 survivors that was on the bus heading home from Kings Island on May 14, 1988. On the way home from the that church youth trip, Booher was part of one of the worst drunk driving accidents in history.

On the 24th year anniversary of the tragedy, Booher mentored the freshman at Holmes High School about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

"I've went through life, I've never tasted alcohol, never tasted tobacco or experimented with drugs and I've had more fun than anybody," said Booher.

And his message is having an impact.

"I'll never experiment with drugs, I could never drink and drive because of what happened to Mr. Booher," said Aaron Perrin, a freshman at Holmes High School. "He lost his best friend and I don't want that to happen to me."
