Judge orders photographer held without bond during appeal

A judge in Cincinnati says a photographer who took unathorized photos at a morgue must stay in jail while prosecutors appeal a ruling that he should get a new trial on one of eight charges. Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Norbert Nadel says Thomas Condon can't post bail until a judge resumes a hearing on the case in August. If Nadel had granted Condon a new trial, he could've been released today. Condon's lawyer says denying bail is unfair because Condon already has served one year of his 18 month-sentence and could end up serving the whole thing and then be granted a new trial. The 32-year-old Condon and an assistant coroner were charged after police found photos of bodies posed with various objects. They were convicted of gross abuse of a corpse but the coroner's conviction was later thrown out.
