Priest Pleads Innocent

Priest charged with killing nun pleads innocent

A Catholic priest has pleaded innocent in Toledo, Ohio, to murdering a nun 24 years ago. The Reverend Gerald Robinson stood during the five-minute arraignment this morning, resting his hands on a chair in front of him. He's charged with strangling and stabbing Sister Margaret Ann Pahl over Easter weekend in 1980. Her body was discovered with about 30 stab wounds in a hospital chapel, covered by an altar cloth. Robinson was released from jail last week after supporters raised 400-thousand dollars to cover his bail. If convicted, he could receive a maximum sentence of life in prison. He can't get the death penalty because it was not in effect in Ohio at the time of the killing.
