Tony Nominations

'Wicked' dominates for 2004 Tonys

"Wicked" is taking New York City by storm. The quirky fantasy-filled musical based on "The Wizard of Oz" has picked up ten Tony Award nominations today. "Assassins" has also done well. It got seven nominations for the awards honoring the best plays and musicals on Broadway. "Caroline, or Change," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Avenue Q" and the Lincoln Center revival of "Henry the Fourth" all came away with four.

The Tonys will be handed out in June at a ceremony hosted by Hugh Jackman. He was among the nominees for outstanding actor in a musical for his portrayal of flamboyant entertainer Peter Allen in "The Boy From Oz."

Kevin Kline and Christopher Plummer picked up nominations for best actor in a play.
