Nearly 30 people cut their hair to make wigs for cancer patients

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Nearly 30 people cut off their hair for a good cause on Saturday.

The UC student organization Colleges Against Cancer organized the event to help create real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

"I'm astounded. It's phenomenal. It's a crazy feeling, you know, your hair getting cut. You look around and you see all these other women and men donating their hair too. It was a great feeling," said Marissa Carducci, with Beautiful Lengths. Beautiful Lengths is a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society to encourage people to donate eight inches of hair so Pantene can turn it into free wigs for women with cancer.

Mary Beth Hall was a guest speaker at the event. Hall is a cancer survivor and author from the Tri-State.
