And another one for our Reds!

I FINALLY made it out to see the Reds this season and it couldn't have been a more perfect night for baseball! I FINALLY made it out to see the Reds this season and it couldn't have been a more perfect night for baseball!
The winner of American Idol Season 11 will be announced tonight! The winner of American Idol Season 11 will be announced tonight!

Good morning!

I think all of us who went out to GABP to watch our Reds take on the Braves last night could probably agree that it couldn't have been more perfect! Between the Reds winning (4-3), Aroldis Chapman getting a standing ovation as he made his way onto the field in the 9th inning, his 100 mph pitches AND the beautiful weather...it was definitely a great night for baseball!

Speaking of beautiful weather, it looks like it'll be sticking around! Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that our warm up begins today with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s.  You can watch Katy and Frank all morning long starting at 4 AM for your current weather conditions and a complete seven-day forecast to start making those Memorial Day plans!

BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING: A North College Hill apartment that broke out in flames left one person dead and sent three others to the hospital. Dan Wells will be live at the scene with more information starting at 4:30 AM.

A Highlands High School teacher who was indicted for having sex with a student will be in court this morning. Andrea Connors was indicted on first degree sex abuse charges earlier this month. Brad Underwood will be at the Campbell County Courthouse in Newport this morning with more on this story at  5 AM.

A group of third and fourth graders from South Avondale Elementary will be flying high this morning for one heck of a field trip! Mayor Mark Mallory has arranged for Ultimate Air Shuttle to take the 24 students for a flyover Cincinnati as a reward for working hard in the classroom. The kiddos will be taking off from Lunken Airport at 9:30 this morning.

Anyone else looking to "fly high" today can should make their way down to Party in Park at Yeatman's Cove! The weekly summer party will be featuring a zip-line starting near the purple people bridge and ending in the middle of the lawn and is running at $10/person.

Our morning show anchors have put blood, sweat and tears (slight exaggeration) into the FOX19 grill-off challenge and I'm wondering if we saved the best for last! If you ask Rob Williams, he'll tell you yes, but we'll just have to see coming up at 8:15 when he grills up some BBQ ribs!

24 finalists are now down to two: Phillip vs Jessica are duking it out for the title of the next American Idol. Both have some serious pipes and I think it'll be down to the wire with who wins! Tricia Macke was lucky enough to sit down with last years winner, Scotty McCreery, to talk about his experiences with the show and post-fame. Be sure to tune-in at 8:20 AM for this exclusive interview!

The second part of the nail-biting season finale airs tonight at 8 PM on FOX19!
