Rob's pork ribs

  • 3 1/3 lbs pork back ribs (Findlay Market Busch's Country Corner
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • ½ cup of cola
  • Cousin Pogo's Famous "Award Winnin Butt Rub (Colonel De Gourmet Herbs and Spices Findlay Market


  • Spray inside of your 6 quart slow cooker with vegetable spray or use slow cooker liner.  Remove inner skin from ribs.  (step not necessary if you buy them at Busch's.  They're already removed)
  • Rub the ribs with Col De butt rub.  In a small mixing bowl, mix brown sugar, pepper, liquid smoke, garlic and salt.  Brush this mixture on top of the rub.  Cut ribs into 4 inch pieces.  Place ribs on bottom of slow cooker with onions on top. Pour cola over ribs. Cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until tender.  (I did 8 hours)  Remove ribs and discard liquid.  Sprinkle more butt rub onto ribs and put on grill for about 15 minutes.
  • Brush with BBQ sauce (I picked Montgomery Inn)
