HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) – - A man accused of opening fire in a Hamilton bar is in the Butler County Jail after spending a night in the hospital.
Police say on Sunday around 2 p.m., they were called to Tailgator's Bar at 1079 Millville Ave for a disturbance call, and learned that 39-year-old Shawn Haynes entered the bar with a gun and fired one round in the direction of a person that he had previous problems with.
The bullet missed its target, but Haynes then became the target of bar staff and patrons.
They were able to subdue him, with Haynes receiving numerous injuries. He was taken to nearby Fort Hamilton Hospital, and then flown to Kettering Hospital in Dayton by helicopter.
He was released from the hospital and went home. Hamilton Police officers and Detectives went to his home on Vanda Drive Monday and arrested him.
Haynes is charged with Felonious Assault (Felony 2), Carrying Concealed Weapons (Firearm) (F4), Weapons Under Disability (F3), and Possession of a Weapon in a Liquor Establishment (F5)
