HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County School District has been named a 2012 National School District of Character by the Character Education Partnership (CEP) and is the only school district in the nation to receive this honor.
Each year, the CEP selects schools and districts that demonstrate a focus on character development which has had a positive impact on students and school climate.
In addition, three local schools were recognized for "Best Practices": Ridgeway Elementary School, Wilson Middle School and Hamilton Freshman School.
The Hamilton County Schools were also awarded the Ohio State School District of Character in 2010 and 2011.
The CEP will honor the Hamilton City School District at the National Forum on Character Education November 1-3 in Washington DC.
