SOUTHGATE, KY (FOX19) -
This weekend marks the 35th Anniversary of the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire.
The fire claimed the lives of 167 people on May 28, 1977. The popular club was located in Southgate, Kentucky and brought some of the nation's top musical and comedic talent of the day.
A special gathering was held on Saturday to remember one of the nation's worst fire tragedies.
One of the club's former busboys David Brock and the author of a newly published book called Beverly Hills Supper Club, the Untold Story Behind Kentucky's Worst Tragedy, Robert Webster were at the Southgate Hill Medical Center to sign autographs.
Visitors are also welcome to visit the newly rebuilt memorial which overlooks I-471 heading southbound. The memorial was built through private donations and volunteers over the years. Much of the memorial was made from parts of the clubs remains.
The event was organized by Brock and Wayne Dammert.
