TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A couple from Marana has an amazing story to tell about the birth of their second child Evie.

Colleen and Jack Pogue were keeping track of Colleen's contractions at their home in Dove Mountain. Things kind of sped up and it was time to head to Northwest Medical Center. So they got in their SUV and Colleen felt that they weren't going to make it. "We were at the light at INA and we turned and pulled into the Circle K parking lot," said Colleen Pogue.

Jack the husband called 911 and told the Northwest Fire crews to meet them at Twin Peaks. Since they had passed the area, a second crew of paramedics met them in the Circle K parking lot near Ina and the I-10. The team came just in time, because dad had already begun the birthing process. "The baby was half way out before paramedics got there," said Jack Progue.

For the Northwest Fire paramedics time was flying. It took about four minutes and two pushes by mom and Evie was welcomed to the world. Paramedic Mike Rollman said, "This is a nice change to celebrate with these people on such a great day."

Evie was born around 6:30am weighting 6 pounds and 19 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing great. "Definitely not the labor and delivery we had planned for by any means but she came out perfect," said Colleen Pogue.
