Remembering the missing on National Missing Persons Day

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - There have been several high profile missing person cases throughout the Tri-State over the last 1 1/2 years that still are unsolved.

Paige Johnson of Covington, KY went missing in September of 2010, while Ohio natives...Billy Disilvestro went missing in February of 2011 and Katelyn Markham vanished in August of last year.

"I wouldn't want anybody to deal with what I go through everyday of my life," said Debbie Estes, Billy's mother. "I have a piece of my heart that's missing."

Debbie says almost every weekend she and some close friends search for Billy. She's even received help from strangers, like Lamar Advertising posted a billboard with a description of Billy earlier this year and a bench along Main St. in Hamilton shows Billy's face. Still there's no signs of Billy and the same can be said for Katelyn Markham.

"It's extremely frustrating, I know that everyone is doing their job and it takes time,
said Katie Lewis, Markham's friend. "It's just the waiting, it's horrible."

Lewis has been involved in several searches and continues to be active on the numerous "Find Katelyn Markham" Facebook pages.

"It's just scary to think, because we were the same age and went to the same school," said Lewis. "I'm trying to do everything I can to keep her name out there because if it was me I would want that done for me."

In Kentucky, Paige Johnson went missing September 23rd, 2010 when a friend of hers, Jacob Bumpass, says he dropped her off at 15th and Scott Streets in Covington.

Almost one year later, her mother declared her legally deceased. She believes Bumpass knows where Paige is, but he's not talking.

He's currently behind bars on a separate parole violation and has never been named a suspect.
